Business Case

Business Case for AITP Fundraising Event
Prepared by: Matt Lenz, Jessie Hodges, Jonas Johe

1.0 Introduction/ Background
The Association of Information Technology Professionals club goal is to educate and to expose students to information technology. The faculty advisor, Dr. Hunsinger, believes that exposing students to the National Collegiate Conference would help the club meet these goals. While also, it will give students the opportunity to use their networking skills to establish contacts for their future.

2.0 Business Objective
Our goal is to raise funds for the AITP club to pay for transportation and accommodations for National Collegiate Conference, as well as exam costs, establish networking opportunities for alumni and current club members, and club associated activities.

3.0 Current Situation and Problem/Opportunity Statement
The club has limited funds for club related activities, such as: trips, speakers, certification exams, meeting costs, marketing of the awareness of information technology and knowledge of the overall club.

4.0 Critical Assumption and Constraints
We are doing a non-profit event. To make this project worthwhile, our goal is to make $10,000. We must have this amount to ensure the opportunity for club members for activities that are described above.

5.0 Analysis of Option and Recommendation
1. Not have an event and just go to different companies and ask for donations.
2. Call alumni and ask for donations.
3. Just have a dinner/auction/or dance/or a combination of any of the three
4 Take donations and just sell them on eBay (no event).
5 Do nothing, and assume that the club has enough money already saved, will pay
for future trips and the previously mentioned activities.

Recommendation: We believe that a dinner, auction, and dance will be the most profitable for our purposes.
